This Privacy Notice explains how the Center for AI Safety, Inc. (“CAIS”) collects, uses, and shares personal information in connection with the Team Human campaign. It supplements CAIS’s general Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
When you participate in Team Human, we collect your first and last name, email address, country of residence, and, if you are located in the United States, your ZIP code. For users outside the United States, we also record whether you choose to receive emails about this campaign and related opportunities to take action. We may use your IP address to estimate your location and pre-fill country or ZIP code information, but we do not retain your IP address for this purpose.
We use your information to record and administer your support for the campaign, communicate with you about the campaign, related CAIS activities, and opportunities to take action, identify supporters by location so their support can be shared with relevant policymakers, and understand and improve campaign participation.
We may share supporter names with policymakers, government officials, and other recipients of the campaign statement as part of the campaign’s policymaker outreach. For policymakers representing particular constituencies, we may identify supporters within that constituency. We may also use service providers that process information on our behalf. We do not sell supporter email addresses or provide them to other organizations for their own marketing purposes.
Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent before sending campaign or related CAIS emails. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails.
We use PostHog, an analytics service, to count visits and understand how people use the site. It stores a random identifier in a cookie and in your browser’s local storage for up to one year. We do not record your screen or what you type, and we do not link analytics to your signature or email address. The site also remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser.
Some features rely on other providers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, the signature form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated sign-ups, and if you make a profile frame from a social media link, the public photo for that account is fetched through unavatar.io or Facebook. A photo you upload for the frame stays on your device. PostHog and these providers receive your IP address when your browser contacts them.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.
We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children or knowingly reach out to children under the age of 18. If you are under 13 in the United States or under 16 elsewhere, please obtain permission from your parent or legal guardian before providing personal information through the campaign. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone below the applicable age without required parental or guardian consent, we will delete it.
If you are under 18, or if you are the parent or legal guardian of someone under 18, you may contact us at contact@teamhuman.org to request deletion of the minor’s personal information.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, including to administer the campaign, communicate with supporters as permitted, maintain appropriate records, and comply with applicable legal obligations. We may retain certain information for a longer period where required or permitted by law.
CAIS is based in the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing of your personal information, receive certain information in a portable format, and withdraw consent where applicable. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
